About Us
The Ohio Steel Council is a public-private partnership designed to strengthen ties among the steel industry, the State of Ohio and its citizens. It was instituted by the Ohio General Assembly in 1990 for the purpose of maintaining a competitive steel industry in Ohio and ensuring the state's economic well-being. Uniquely positioned as both a part of state government and an advisor to government, the Council strives to ensure that the steel industry will continue to be a source of pride, jobs and economic stimulus for the state of Ohio.
