The Ohio Steel Council is a public-private partnership designed to strengthen ties among the steel industry, the State of Ohio and its citizens. It was instituted by the Ohio General Assembly in 1990 for the purpose of maintaining a competitive steel industry in Ohio and ensuring the state's economic well-being. Uniquely positioned as both a part of state government and an advisor to government, the Council strives to ensure that the steel industry will continue to be a source of pride, jobs and economic stimulus for the state of Ohio.


Council Members

The Ohio Steel Council is made up of public and private entities committed to championing a strong and competitive steel industry throughout the state.

Annual Reports

The Ohio Steel Council is required by law to produce an annual report informing the Ohio General Assembly and other state officials about developments concerning the Ohio steel industry.

Resolutions

Resolutions are formal statements outlining the Council's position on a specific issue or piece of pending legislation. Statements are made public only after receiving unanimous support.

Legislative Newsletters

The Ohio Steel Council produces occasional newsletters for state legislators, informing them about the steel industry's position on important and timely issues.
